WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On May 16th 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Raid

(i) At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis town, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched the home of Mohammad Musa Bader (Who was critically injured in Jerusalem city).
(ii) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Aqab village stormed a Hair Salon and a Dentistry Clinic.
(iii) At dawn on May 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village and detained 3 residents.

Injuries

At 10:30, the resident Mohammad Musa Mohammad Bader (A resident of Abu Dis town) was critically injured after Israeli forces opened fire towards him near Al-Masarat neighborhood in Jerusalem city.

Detention

(i) At 10:30, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Musa Bader (Who was critically injured in Jerusalem city).
(ii) At 12:45, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Za’im checkpoint detained Khalil Hazim Abbadin (A resident of Jerusalem city).
(iii) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Firas Ra’fat Dari, Moath Nihad Obied and Mohammad Jamal Mahmoud in Al-Eisawiya village.

Attack

At 17:00, Israeli forces positioned in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

House Demolition

(i) At 05:00 on May 16th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Jabal Al Baba area located in east Al-Eizariya town uninstalled and demolished 12 Caravans used as housing by approximately 70 Bedouin residents and owned by :Abdallah Mazar’a, Mohammad Hassan Mazar’a, Hassan Mohammad Mazar’a, Ahmad Mohammad Jahalin, Mahmoud Mohammad Jahalin, Hussien Mazar’a, Adnan Khamis Mazar’a, Mariam Hussien Mazar’a, Fadi Mazar’a, Salem Mazar’a, Fatima Hassan Mazar’a and Hussien Suliman Mazar’a then proceeded to confiscate the remains of the Caravans which were Donated by the European Union.
(ii) On the Morning of May 17th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Al-Suwana neighborhood in Jerusalem city and demolished 2 homes owned by The Tutah family for allegedly being built without a licence.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Settlers Violence

At 20:40, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land located in the west area of Beit Anan village, set fire to and destroyed several Olive trees after assaulting and injuring 2 residents: Rajab Mahmoud Al-Hinawi and Ghazi Ishaq Hameed.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Rantis village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 16:00 and again at 18:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles then temporarily detained Mohammad Muwafaq Irhami (A resident of Beit Rima town) and released him at 20:30.
(iii) At 22:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Abboud town then searched residents and vehicles until 23:55.
(iv) At 23:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles until 02:15.

Raid

(i) At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Beitin village then stormed and searched a home.
(ii) At 24:00, Israeli forces raided Shuqba village.
(iii) At 00:55, Israeli forces raided Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities and detained 2 residents including the Deputy of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) after assaulting and injuring him then withdrew at 04:30.

Attack

At 10:00, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Pesagout” settlement located in the east area of Al-Bireh city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured the child Ameer Faraj Shafiq (16 years old) and temporarily detained 3 children: Mohammad Abdallah Al-Aqah (16 years old), Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Nubani (16 years old) and Abdel-Azziz Ali Othman Zied (16 years old).

Injuries

Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Pesagout” settlement located in the east area of Al-Bireh city opened fire towards and injured the child Ameer Faraj Shafiq (16 years old).

Temporary Detention

Israeli forces temporarily detained 3 children: Mohammad Abdallah Al-Aqah (16 years old), Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Nubani (16 years old) and Abdel-Azziz Ali Othman Zied (16 years old).

Detention

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces detained the child Fadi Abdel-Kareem Hamad (14 years old) {A resident of Silwad town}.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Abdel-Jabber Al-Foqaha {the Deputy of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC)} and Ma’moun Al-Zaghir during their raid into Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities.

JENIN

Closure

Since December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Abu Da’if then searched residents and vehicles until 20:00.

Raid

At 20:40, Israeli forces raided Faqou’a town until 20:45.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Raid

At 11:20, Israeli forces raided Ein Al-Bayda village.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 17:40, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Detention

On May 15th 2016, Israeli forces detained Oday Mohammad Saleem Assaf (A resident of Tulkarem).

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Raid

At 14:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Amin, Azzun Atma and Sinira villages.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Military Checkpoints

At 17:30, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at 17:40.

Flying Checkpoints

At 17:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Einbus village and impeded the free flow of traffic until 18:30.

Raid

At dawn on May 16th 2016, Israeli forces raided Yatma village and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Yusef Isam Abdel-Hafith Sanubar in Yatma village.

Assaults on Property

At 13:05, Israeli forces stormed east Beita town and levelled a solid waste landfill thus preventing residents of dumping their waste in the land fill

Settlers Violence

At 16:45, Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Khirbit Tana village then withdrew at 12:50.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 16:00, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya town, stormed a coffee shop, temporarily detained several residents in the shop then released them after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officers.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires

Flying Checkpoints

At 22:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar then searched residents and vehicles until 01:55.

Raid

(i) At 20:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader town and demolished a concrete fence located near a local Girls Secondary School then withdrew at 23:00.
(ii) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Teqou’, stormed and searched several homes, detained a resident and summoned 3 residents including 2 children: Ammar Yasser Al-Amour (17 years old), Mustafa Jamal Al-Badan (17 years old) and Shadi Nayef Al-Haroub to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:00.

Destruction of Property

Israeli forces demolished a concrete fence located near a local Girls Secondary School in Al-Khader town.

Attack

At 10:20, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Ayda camp in Bethlehem city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ahmad Khalil Abu Mifrih in Teqou’ town.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Fuwar junction then searched residents and vehicles until 09:55.
(ii) At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Dura town then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.

Raid

At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar town, stormed and searched a home and detained a resident.

Detention

(i) At 13:20, Israeli forces detained Khadija Ahmad Mohammad Al-Badawi (A resident of Al-Fuwar camp) as she was visiting her son at a Israeli Prison.
(ii) At 17:40, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Huwawir area located in North Halhoul town detained 2 residents: Mohammad Waheed Jawabra (A Intelligence force officer) and Ashraf Yusef Jawabra.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Muhanad Mohammad Abdel-Hameed Abu Mariya (16 years old) in Beit Ummar.

Attack

At 16:30, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Fuwar camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Khan Yunis.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

(i) At 04:30 on May 16th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.
(ii) At 06:20 on May 17th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town, detained 2 fishermen, and then confiscated a fishing boat.

Confiscation of Property

At 19:00 on May 15th 2016, Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 fishermen: Sameh Mohammad Ramadan Ziyad and Ibrahim Mohammad Ramadan Ziyad off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

On the evening of May 16th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.
