WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On May 4th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint

Detention

(i) At dawn on May 4th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Yunis Abu Al-Hawa in Al-Tur neighbourhood.
(ii) At dawn on May 4th 2016, Israeli forces detained Fadi Hussien Al-Kilani in Al-Sunah neighbourhood.
(iii) At 18:00, Israeli forces detained Ayat Mohammad Al-Himdi in the old city of Jerusalem.
(iv) At 23:00, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Nidal Abu Irmeleh after assaulting him in Jerusalem city.

Deportation

On May 3rd 2016, Israeli forces served military orders for the expulsion of 6 residents including a child: Ismail Tawfiq Muhisien (17 year old), Qusay Mohammad Khalil, Ibrahim Azmi Haribat, Yusef Abdel-Kareem Al-Alami and Ammar Abu Jabnah preventing them from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire

(i) At 08:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbiya then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30.
(ii) At 08:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Abu Mash’al village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 16:45.

Raid

(i) At dawn on May 4th 2016, Israeli forces raided Kafr Malik village and detained 2 University students.
(ii) At 22:50, Israeli forces raided Shuqba village.
(iii) At 23:55, Israeli forces raided Deir Nathim village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 00:40.
(iv) At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Qubiba village until 04:20.
(v) At 01:20, Israeli forces raided Beituniya town .

Detention

At 16:15, Israeli forces detained Atef Al-Salhi (A resident of Silwad town) near Aqbat Yabroud area.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Showkat Ahmad Amarah and Islam Jihad Al-Masri.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Arraba town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.
(ii) At 19:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Kafrit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 21:30.

Raid

At 02:00 on May 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Deir Abu Da’if village and detained 2 residents.
(ii) At 03:00 on May 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Faqou’a village and detained 2 residents.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mujahid Mohammad Amar Ya’coub and Billal Ahmad Yassin in Deir Abu Da’if.

TUBAS

Military Checkpoints

At 08:05, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 14:00.

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Ghishouri” factories located in west Tulkarem city then searched residents and vehicles until 13:10.

At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Kafr Zibad village and detained a resident.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure (per District)

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:20.
(ii) At 09:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 12:00.
(iii) At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Yatma village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 13:00.
(iv) At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Subustiya village junction and temporarily detained Saed Kiwan as he was riding his tractor then withdrew at 17:00.
(v) At 20:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Osirin village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Harris village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 07:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Kafr Al-Dik town then searched residents and vehicles.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

At 16:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the Dead Sea junction then searched residents and vehicles until 17:30.

Settlers Violence

At 11:20, a Israeli settler operating a bulldozer leveled 700m of agricultural land located near “Vared Yaricho” settlement located in south Jericho city and destroyed crops during which he withdrew from the area under the protection of Israeli Military forces at 14:30.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
(vi) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
(vii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 13:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Al-Khader bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 15:00.
(ii) At 16:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Teqou’ town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.
(iii) At 17:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Aqbat Hasnah area located near Husan town then searched residents and vehicles until 18:00.

Raid

(i) At 08:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Walaja village and served military orders for the halt of construction on 10 homes owned by Nabeel Hussien Hajaj’a, Hassa (one home), Hassan Nasser Abu Al-Teen (two homes), Omar Mohammad Sa’ed Al-Shiekh (two homes), Mohammad Sa’ed Al-Shiekh (one home) and Alaa Al-Din Abdel-Ghani (2 homes).
(ii) At 18:40, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town until 19:05.
(iii) At 03:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town , stormed several homes, detained 4 residents then withdrew at 04:55.

Detention

(i) At 13:30, Israeli forces detained Ali Ahmad Salah Zibadah (A resident of Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Fayez Mohammad Fayez Taqatqa, Mohammad Jihad Ali Ahmad, Ahmad Salah Ahmad Ballo and Omar Ayed Omar Taqatqa in Beit Fajjar.

Destruction of Property

At 12:50,Israeli forces stormed Al-Bariya area located near Teqou’ and served military orders for the demolition of a water well network and several Baracks owned by Ahmad Khalaf Mohammad Jabarin, Amin Mahmoud Jabarin and Attiyeh Mohammad Jabarin

Settlers Violence

At 10:30, a group of Israeli settlers stormed land located in the area between Wadi Rahal and Jurat Al-Sham’a villages and installed tents then withdrew at 12:00.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 09:55, Israeli forces closed Abu Al-Rish checkpoint in the old city of Hebron from 08:00 until 17:00 for a period of 1 week {with the exception May 5th 2016 which is Al-Isra Wal Mi’raj Holiday} and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Tariq Bin Ziyad junction located in the south area of Hebron city then searched resident and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 03:00 on May 4th 2016, Israeli forces raided Dura town and detained a resident.
(ii) At 21:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Aroub camp and stormed a home.

Detention

(i) At 01:00 on May 3rd 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Nerouj and Muhanad Nerouj during their raid into Hebron city as mentioned in the report of May 3rd 2016.
(ii) At 10:40, Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Ahmad Abu Madi in the old city of Hebron.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Taysir Ahmad Khalil Khalaf in Dura town.

Attack

At 18:55, Israeli forces positioned in Ras Al-Aroud area in Sa’ir town fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Arif Sharif Abdel-Fatah Jaradat.

Settlers Violence

At 17:30, a group of Israeli settlers assaulted Raed Jihad Abu Irmeleh (A photo journalist).

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by raiding Gaza and Rafah.

• The Israeli Military broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire and launching Tank Artillery shells from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza and Rafah.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North Gaza and Khan Yunis.
• Israeli Military Air crafts broke the cease fire agreement by launching missiles towards North Gaza, Gaza and Rafah which injured a resident.
• Palestinian Gunmen broke the ceasefire agreement by launching 21 projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line{As alleged by the Israeli Military}.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 09:00, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North West Beit Lahiya town.

Air Strike

At 04:00, Israeli Military aircraft launched 2 missiles towards Palestinian Gunmen in North Beit Lahiya town.

Detention

At 10:00, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) detained Mohammad Al-Bahisi as he was travelling for medical treatment at a hospital in the West Bank.

Palestinian Attacks

At 16:15, Palestinian Gunmen launched projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing point located in North Beit Hanoun during which Israeli forces returned fire towards the area.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Raid

At 12:00, Israeli forces escorting military bulldozers stormed 100 m in east Al-Shujaia located in east Gaza and leveled a plot of land then withdrew at 19:00

Air Strike

(i) At 04:10, Israeli Military aircrafts launched 1 missile towards Jabal Al-Surani area located in east At Tufah area located in North east Gaza city.
(ii) At 04:30, Israeli Military aircrafts launched 1 missiles towards a steel mill located in Al-Zaytuoneh neighbourhood located in south east Gaza city and as a result injured Hassan Hassanein.
(iii) At 04:30, Israeli Military aircrafts launched a missile towards Palestinian gunmen in Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city.

Palestinian Attacks

(i) At 14:50, a group of Palestinian Gunmen launched 7 projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city during which Israeli Military tanks launched 3 artillery shells towards Palestinian gunmen located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city.
(ii) At 15:20, , a group of Palestinian Gunmen launched 1 projectile towards Israeli forces positioned at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city during which Israeli forces launched opened extensive fire towards Palestinian gunmen located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city.
(iii) At 17:50, a group of Palestinian Gunmen launched 2 projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city during which Israeli Military tanks launched 3 artillery shells towards Palestinian gunmen located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city and as s result caused damage to the Building owned by the Electrical Company.
(iv) At 18:30, a group of Palestinian Gunmen launched 2 projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city during which Israeli Military tanks launched 1 artillery shells towards Palestinian gunmen located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city and as s result caused damage to a home.
(v) At 20:30, a group of Palestinian Gunmen launched 3 projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city.

KHAN YUNIS

At 19:00, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Khan Yunis city.

(i) At 18:15, Palestinian gunmen launched projectiles towards Israeli forces positioned at Sufa Crossing located in North east Rafah city during which Israeli Military tanks launched artillery shells towards Palestinian gunmen in east Rafah city.
