WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

• On April 17th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound. • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits. • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

• The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village. • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall
Raid

• At 03:15, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 05:00. • At dawn on April 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village and detained a resident.

Detention
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Arin Al-Zaghanin, Fahed Shalabi and Jihad Sa’edeh in Wadi Al-Joz neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
  • At 21:50, Israeli forces positioned at Jaba’ checkpoint detained Dirgham Mohammad Basharat (A resident of Tamoun town in Tubas).
  • Israeli forces detained Yusef Obied in Al-Eisawiya.
Temporary Detention
  • At 01:30, Israeli forces positioned at Jaba’ checkpoint temporarily detained several University students then released them at 02:30.
Destruction of Property
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces stormed Al-Bistan area in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and served military orders to demolish 4 merchant shops owned by Nader Diyab, Yassin Al-Rajabi, Daoud Halisi and Mohammad Halsi.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Silwad town, opened fire towards a vehicle then temporarily detained its driver then released him at a later time then withdrew at 13:30.
  • At 12:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Yabroud village bridge then then searched residents and vehicles until 14:00.
  • At 12:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah town bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of  Deir Al-Sudan village then searched residents and vehicles until 14:20.
  • At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint the entrance of Beit Ur Al-Hahta village  then searched residents and vehicles until 22:10.
  • At 20:30, Israeli forces set up 2 checkpoints at the entrances of Khirbithat Al-Misbah and Beit Sira village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:10.
Raid
  • At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Silwad town, stormed and searched a home after detonating the main entrance and detained a University Student.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Abdel-Hameed Mahmoud Hamad in Silwad.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Arrabah village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 13:00.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads
  • Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Tayassir checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 14:40.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Ein Al-Bayda village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Quffin town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 22:25.
Raid
  • At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, stormed a home and a vehicle repair Garage then withdrew at 01:55.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 07:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles
Demonstrations
  • At 17:55, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site as a result injured Assaf Hikmat Abdel-Mahdi Ali.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Yitzahar” settlement junction located in North Huwara then searched residents and vehicles until 20:30.
  • At 21:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Bithan village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:15.
Raid
  • At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Sabastiya village until 11:00.
  • At 01:30 on April 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Nablus city.
Settlers Violence
  • At 17:55, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Masuadiya area in Burqa village then withdrew under the protection of Israeli forces .
  • At 00:50, Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara checkpoint  chanted racial slurs towards residents then withdrew at 01:30.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 16:00, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya town, stormed a coffee shop, temporarily detained several residents in the shop then released them after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officers.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.

Flying Checkpoints

At 22:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar then searched residents and vehicles until 01:55.

Raid

(i) At 20:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader town and demolished a concrete fence located near a local Girls Secondary School then withdrew at 23:00.
(ii) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Teqou’, stormed and searched several homes, detained a resident and summoned 3 residents including 2 children: Ammar Yasser Al-Amour (17 years old), Mustafa Jamal Al-Badan (17 years old) and Shadi Nayef Al-Haroub to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:00.

Attack

At 10:20, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Ayda camp in Bethlehem city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ahamd Khalil Abu Mifrih in Teqou’ town.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Fuwar junction then searched residents and vehicles until 09:55.
(ii) At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Dura town then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.

Raid

At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar town, stormed and searched a home and detained a resident.

Detention

(i) At 13:20, Israeli forces detained Khadija Ahmad Mohammad Al-Badawi (A resident of Al-Fuwar camp) as she was visiting her son at a Israeli Prison.
(ii) At 17:40, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Huwawir area located in North Halhoul town detained 2 residents: Mohammad Waheed Jawabra (A Intelligence force officer) and Ashraf Yusef Jawabra.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Muhanad Mohammad Abdel-Hameed Abu Mariya (16 years old) in Beit Ummar.

Attack

At 16:30, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Fuwar camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Khan Yunis.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

(i) At 04:30 on May 16th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.
(ii) At 06:20 on May 17th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town, detained 2 fishermen, and then confiscated a fishing boat.

Confiscation of Property

At 19:00 on May 15th 2016, Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 fishermen: Sameh Mohammad Ramadan Ziyad and Ibrahim Mohammad Ramadan Ziyad off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

On the evening of May 16th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
