WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On April 12th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Closure of Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  • At 13:00, Israeli forces closed Jaba’ point located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah and Jericho and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:00, Israeli forces set up 2 checkpoints at the entrances of Hizma village and impeded the free flow of traffic.
  • At 20:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem and detained a resident.
Raid
  • At dawn on April 12th 2016, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp and detained 3 residents.
  • At 20:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town then stormed and searched a scrap metal shop.
  • At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis town, detained 3 children then withdrew at 02:55.
Detention
  • At 17:00, Israeli forces detained Jamal Al-Akawi and confiscated his computer after storming and searching his home in the old city of Jerusalem.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces detained Marwan Al-Hashlamoun after storming and searching his home in the old city of Jerusalem.
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Raed Fayez, Mohammad Eid Badran and Nidal Ahmad Ziyad.
  • Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem detained Jawad Ibrahim.
  • Israeli forces detained 3 children: Yusef Hassan Attallah (17 years old), Mohammad Anwar Sha’lan (17 years old) and Eyad Anwar Sha’lan (16 years old).
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the West entrance of Silwad then searched residents and vehicles during which they clashed with several residents and detained 2 children {one of whom holds US citizenship}.
  • At 18:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
Raid
  • At 21:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city, stormed and searched 2 homes detained a Palestinian Intelligence Force officer.
  • At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Abu Qash town, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 04:50.
Detention
  • At 19:20 on April 10th 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Samed Fihmi Al-Abed Thib (15 years old) {A resident of Shbatin village}.
  • Israeli forces positioned at the West entrance of Silwad town detained Ahmad Mohammad Abdel-Salam (17 years old) and Omar Nael Hamad (16 years old) {US citizen}.
  • Israeli forces detained Imad Abu Rizq in Al-Bireh city

JENIN

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Qad village and opened fire towards a civilian vehicle as it was passing through the checkpoint despite the fact that one of the soldiers had given the vehicle permission to pass through.
  • At 23:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Al-Silah Al-Harthiya town then searched residents and vehicles.
Detention
  • At 18:55, Israeli forces positioned at Salem Military base detained Mohammad Kamal Mahmoud Al-Razi {A resident of Ya’bad} as he was accompanying his mother to attend the trail of his imprisoned brother.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.
Temporary Detention
  • At 15:50, Israeli forces positioned at Tayasir checkpoint temporarily detained Ayman Hassan Sa’id Sawafta then released him at a later time.
Confiscation of Property
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces stormed Ibziq village and confiscated a Agricultural tractor owned by Abdel-Kareem Nassrallah Al-Haroub.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  • At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, detained a University student then withdrew at 04:00.
Detention
  • At 01:05 on April 12th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ameen Bassam Khawalid during their raid into Shwikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem.
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Abdel-Ra’uf Jarrar in Tulkarem city.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint  at the entrance of Azzun Atma village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction and prevented vehicles from travelling through a bypass road near “Yitzhar” settlement located in North Huwara town in Nablus district.
Settlers Violence
  • At 10:00, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Far’ata and attacked the home of Awad Al-Taweel and shattered its windows and slashed the tires of his tractor.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

  • At 23:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shave Shomron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, stormed a home then withdrew at 06:00.
  • At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Orif village, detained a University student then withdrew at 03:30.
  • At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq until 04:45.
  • At 04:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Dajan village, detained a University student and summoned Radwan Abu Thabet to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Abdel-Hafith Mohammad Shihadeh in Orif village.
  • Israeli forces detained Nasseer Radwan Abu Thabet in Beit Dajjan village.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

  • At 09:00, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Deir Ballout and Rafat village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya town then stormed and searched 2 homes then withdrew at 02:45.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints
  • At 07:10 on April 12th 2016 and again at 19:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho 20:15.
  • At 17:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of the entrance of Fasayil village then searched residents and vehicles until 19:10.
Raid
  • At 24:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Jiftlik village, stormed and searched several homes, detained a resident then withdrew at 02:30.
Detention
  • At 23:50, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained 2 residents: Doud Ahmad Abu Turki and Ahmad Aazam Muti’ Inab.
  • Israeli forces detained Zidan Mohammad Salameh Zidan in Al-Jiftlik village.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village. (ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds. (ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds. (iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires. (iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds. (v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader. (vi) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town. (vii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Teqou’ town then searched residents and vehicles until 09:10.

Raid

(i) At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Khalayil Al-Louz village, stormed several homes then withdrew at 02:30. (ii) At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town until 03:20. (iii) At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Minah village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 01:55. (iv) At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, detained a child after storming and searching his father’s home then withdrew at 03:25.

Detention
  1. At 21:00, Israeli forces detained Ali Jamal Jawarish (A resident of Al-Ayda camp in Bethlehem city).
  2. Israeli forces detained Anas Shaher Dariya (15 years old) in Beit Fajjar town.
Temporary Detention
  • At 11:35, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Faradis village temporarily detained 2 residents: Bara Hussein Sabah and Jafar Hussein Sabah then released them at 22:25.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Kahil town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At dawn on April 12th 2016, Israeli forces raided Bani Na’im town and detained a resident.
(ii) At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, stormed and searched several homes, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:50.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Issa Zidat in Bani Na’im town.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Hisham Issa Al-Qawasmi in Hebron city.

Settlers Violence

At 08:30, a Israeli settler vehicle ran over Basma Salman Al-Azarmah {A special needs patient) near the main road in Obadah village and as a result left her hospitalised the contusions.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by raiding Central Gaza and Rafah District.
  • Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Rafah.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Checkpoints
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Detention
  • At 15:00 on April 11th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing detained Hussein Birawi Hassan Al-Ra’I ( The head coach of the Palestinian National team for Martial Arts){A resident of Gaza city}as he was returning to the Gaza Strip.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Raid
  • At 07:00 on April 12th 2016, Israeli forces escorting military bulldozers stormed 200m into the vicinity of east Deir Al-Balah city and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 13:30.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.

Raid

At 09:00, Israeli forces escorting military bulldozers stormed 50m into the vicinity of Rafah city and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 11:15.

Attack

At 09:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in North east Rafah city.
