WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 3rd 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  • At 18:40, Israeli forces closed Jaba’ checkpoint located along the main road connecting Ramallah, Jericho and Jerusalem and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening at 20:00.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 23:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Bir Nabala roundabout then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • On March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-I’sawiya village, detained 2 residents after storming their homes and again at 18:00 raided the area  for the alleged shooting incident towards Israeli forces at the entrance of the village and occupied several homes and converted their rooftops into Military posts after closing the front steel entrance gate and prevented residents and vehicles from entering or exiting  the village during which they clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes.
  • At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Kafr Aqab village.
  • At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis until 03:40.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Yunis Aliyan and Ali Muhisen in Al-I’sawiya village.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 20:30, Israeli forces set up checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ur village then searched residents and vehicles until 00:20.
  • At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atara Bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 22:10.
Raid
  • At 21:15, Israeli forces raided Shuqba village.
  • At 00:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Sira village until 00:45.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
Detention
  • At 03:30 on March 3rd 3016, Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Issam Al-Sa’di during their raid into Jenin city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Raid
  • At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Far’a camp until 04:05.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 21:35, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 22:20.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Kafr Jamal village and detained a resident after storming and searching his home.
  • At 18:10, Israeli forces raided Zeitta town until 20:30.
  • At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city and its camps then withdrew at 03:10.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Abdel-Latif Hassan Abdel-Lattif Tubat in Kafr Al-Jamal village.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
Detention
  • At 02:00 on March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces detained Qusay Zakiya Aqab Odwan during their raid into Azzun.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  • On March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces closed the 2 junctions of Beita and Tel village with dirt mounds.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 19:30 on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic for the alleged stabbing incident of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement.
Raid
  • At 09:50, Israeli forces raided Sarah village.
  • At 13:20, Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin village and closed the main steel gate entrance.
  •  At 15:30, Israeli forces raided Sabustiya village.
  • At 22:35, Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin village, imposed a curfew on its residents, then stormed and searched several homes and they remain present in the area
  • At 01:20, Israeli forces raided Qaryout village, took measurement of 2 homes owned by the families of Labib Azzam and Mohammad Zaghloun. Then stormed and searched several homes after temporarily detaining its residents and were questioned by Israeli Intelligence officers then withdrew at 05:00.
  • At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Al-Sawiya village, stormed and searched several homes, confiscated surveillance camera footage from a vehicle spare parts shop owned by Eyad Yasser Saleh then withdrew at 04:10.
Settlers Violence
  • At 10:55, Israeli settlers from “Yitzhar” settlement stormed the south area of Assira Al-Qibliya and shattered the rear window of a vehicle owned by Anas Abdul-Bassit Ahmad then withdrew under the protection of Israeli forces at 14:25.
  • On March 3rd 2016, Israeli settlers from “Alon Moriya” stormed agricultural land in Deir Al-Hatab village and uprooted 55 Olive trees owned by Hussien and Zamal families.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Since 19:30 on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces continue to close Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic for the alleged stabbing of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement located in Nablus District.
Raid
  • At 23:00, Israeli forces raided Kafil Harris village.
Temporary Detention
  • At 22:15, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint temporarily detained 4 residents of Awarta village: Muntasir Al-Qadi, Murad Al-Qadi, Bashir Al-Qadi and Abed Qawariq then released them at 23:15.
  • At 22:45, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint temporarily detained Murad Al-Az’ar (A National Security Force officer) then released him at a later time.
Land Levelling
  • At 14:50, Israeli forces stormed Al-Marj area located in east Deir Ballout and levelled a plot of land owned by Taysir Rushdi Abdallah and his brothers.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Jiftlik village and summoned Mohammad Ahmad Jahalin to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
House Demolition
  • At 10:40, Israeli forces stormed Wadi Qult area located in West Jericho and demolished several residential tents owned by Mohammad Shihadeh Najoum and Salah Ibrahim Nojom.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Taqou’ and Halqoum village then searched residents and vehicle until 09:30.
Raid
  • At 08:20, Israeli forces raided Jinata town until 08:40.
  • At 14:05, Israeli forces raided Za’tara, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 14:35.
  • At 15:25, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 16:10.
Killings
  • On the morning of March 4th 2016, Amani Husni Jawad Sbatin (34 years old){A resident of Husan village} was killed  by Israeli forces who opened fire towards her  for allegedly attempting to run over a Israeli soldier near “Ghush Itsiyon” settlement {As alleged by the Israeli military}.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighborhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed. (ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

On February 14th 2016, the Ministry of Religious affairs {Al-Awqaf} discovered a Israeli archaeologist digging approximately 80 cm in length and 50 cm in width beneath Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron towards Prophet Izhaq’s Tomb.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of main Roads
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is Beit Hanun (Erez) open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack
  • At 14:00 on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood in east Gaza city and as a result bullets struck a class room in Beit Dajan school as school children were in class and as a result damaged the school wall.
  • At 09:00 on March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood in east Gaza city.
  • At 23:00 on March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood in east Gaza city.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
