WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 4th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North junction of Al-Ram then searched residents and vehicles.
Attack
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces positioned near Qutna village fired, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 15:50, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ram junction fired, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 16:05, Israeli forces positioned in Abu Dis and Al-Izariya fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured the child Thaer Abdallah Sarabiya (17 years old) and as a result left him hospitalised.
Detention
  • At 16:40, Israeli forces detained Majd Nassar Subieh near Al-Ram town.
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Salaslah gate {A main gate entrance leading to Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem} detained 2 residents: Daoud Al-Salaymeh (16 years old) and Mahmoud Al-Baytouni (15 years old) as they were defending themselves after Israeli settlers assaulted them
Settlers Violence
  • At dawn on March 3rd 2016, a Israeli settler assaulted Fadi Al-Rashq {A bus driver for Egged bus company} and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Raid
  • At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Kobar village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured Nibras Shiqat Al-Barghuothi and also summoned 2 residents: Faroq Ahmad Ismail and Munir Saqr Al-Barghouthi to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 02:15.
Attack
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces positioned near “ Ofar” Military base/ Prison fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • 13:30, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • On the evening of March 4th 2016, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Silwad town; fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents.
Demonstrations
  • At 13:30, a demonstration took place in Ni’lin village protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result suffocated several residents from tear gas inhalation.
  • At 13:30, a demonstration took place in Bil’in protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • At 13:30, a demonstration took place in An Nabi Saleh village protesting against land confiscation for the purpose of settlement construction and as a result suffocated several residents from tear gas inhalation.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 13:25, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:10
Raid
  • At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Shufa village until 13:35.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Demonstrations
  • At 12:40, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site and as a result injured 2 residents including a child: Khaled Murad Ishtewwi (9 years old) and Mash’hour Saleh Hassan Jum’a and also left several residents suffocating from tear gas inhalation.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Nablus city and Tel village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces raided Qusin village until 12:00.
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces raided Jabal Al-Tur area in Nablus city.
  • At 22:20, Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin village, stormed and searched 10 homes then withdrew at 23:45.
  • At 24:00, Israeli forces raided Assirah Al-Qibliya village.
Detention
  • At 16:40, Israeli forces positioned near “Alon Moriya” settlement detained Sayf Rabih Ishtayeh (A resident of Salim village).
Attack
  • At 15:15, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Tel village opened random fire in the area and temporarily detained Mustafa Khaled Odah (A resident of Tel village) then released him after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officer.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • At 11:05, Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 17:35.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Husan village and prevented residents from entering or exiting the area during which they detained and assaulted a resident.
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jinata then searched residents and vehicles until 12:15.
Raid
  • At 09:45, Israeli forces raided Taqou’, temporarily detained Jamal Abed Hussein Salahat then released him after assaulting him then withdrew at 10:20.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, clashed with several residents and as a result injured the child Diya Ibrahim Salah (13 years old) then withdrew at 19:00.
  • At 18:45, Israeli forces raided Jabal Handazah area in Bethlehem until 19:00.
  • At 19:25, Israeli forces raided Husan village, clashed with several residents and detained 2 residents including a child then withdrew at 21:20.
  • At 02:25, Israeli forces raided Al-Shawarah village and summoned Ahmad Issa Mohammad Hamdan to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem, summoned 3 resiednts: Amjad Salah Abu Akr, Ahmad Yaser Salhab and Sadam Aqel Dar Al-Haj to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 04:00.
Attack
  • At 12:45, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Teqou’ fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 12:55, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 4 residents as well as shattering the front windshield of an Ambulance {Red Crescent Society} and also left 2 paramedics suffocated from tear gas inhalation after a tear gas grenade struck the ambulance.
  • At 22:45, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Nihalin village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Safwan Yusef Hameed Hamarah (A resident of Husan village).
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents:  Mohammad Abdel-Fatah Naseem Shushah (13 years old) and Mohammad Ibrahim Sabatin in Husan village.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 4th 2016, Israeli forces raided Yatta and detained a resident.
  • At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron city until 05:10.
Attack
  • At 17:35, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 22:35, Israeli forces positioned near Beit Awwa fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At 15:40, Israeli forces detained Hatem Mahmoud Mohammad Al-Qameeri {A resident of Dura} near Al-Samou’ junction.
  • Israeli forces detained Jamal Khalil Shihadeh in Yatta.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza and  Central Gaza

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination
Attack
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents in the vicinity of Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing point as they were participating in demonstration protesting against the continues Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack
  • At 11:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in south Deir Al-Balah
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents located in the vicinity of Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing in east Gaza fired tear gas grenades towards several residents   in North Beit Lahiya Jabaliya as they were protesting the Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack
  • At 09:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Buriej camp.
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Buriej camp as they were protesting against Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and against Palestinian citizens.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.
