WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 5th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  • At 16:30, Israeli forces closed Jaba’ checkpoint located along the main road connecting Ramallah, Jericho and Jerusalem and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening at a later time.
Raid
  • At 21:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram and set up a checkpoint.
Detention
  • On March 5th 2016, Israeli forces detained Abdallah Daoud Awad (A resident of Abu Dis).
  • On March 5th 2016, Israeli forces detained Nathim Al-Muhtasib (A resident of Al-Ram).
  • On March 5th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Wadi’ Samir Dari and Anan Na’im Al-Baya’ {both residents of Al-Eisawiya}.
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Wad road located in the old city of Jerusalem detained 4 residents: Jawad Abu Nab, Alaa Abu Assab, Mohammad Bosilah and Mahdi Attilah.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • Since  24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Rantis village then searched residents and vehicles until 20:00.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Silwad and summoned 3 residents including 2 children: Eyad Abedel-Wadoud Ayed (17 years old), Eliyas Khalid Ayed (17 years old) and Mohammad Faris Hamad to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • On the morning of March 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Sira village and clashed with several residents.
  • At 23:40, Israeli forces raided Deir Ghassaneh town, stormed a home and summoned Wahbi Mohammad Yusef Daoud to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:10.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Hadad Al-Siyahiya village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • On the morning of March 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad and clashed with several residents after storming several homes.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and imped the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  • On the evening of March 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Shuwikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem until 18:05.

QALQILIYA

Closure of main Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area located between Jayyous and Azzun then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Qaddum village detained 2 residents and temporarily detained Farius Nidal Aqel then released him at a later time.
  • At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city until 02:20.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Nidal Jum’a and Mohammad Raed Baraham in Kafr Qaddum village.
Demonstrations
  • At 16:40, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 09:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 11:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Burin village then searched residents and vehicles until 11:45.
  • On the evening of March 5th 2016, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Beit Furiq, opened random fire in the area and temporarily detained 2 residents: Marcel Anwar Malitat and Saleem Bashir Malitat then released them at a later time.
  • At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 20:10.
  • At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 20:30.
Raid
  • At 23:50, Israeli forces raided Nablus and Balata camp, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched a home in Balata camp then withdrew at 04:30.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • 11:20, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Yasuf village then searched residents and vehicles until 11:20.
  • At 10:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bruqin town then searched residents and vehicles until 10:55.
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Deir Istiya then searched residents and vehicles until 16:15.
  • At 15:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Kafr Al-Dik then searched residents and vehicles until 16:30.
  • At 16:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zawiya town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:50.
  • At 19:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Ballout town and temporarily detained Osama Hamidan Kheir Allah then released him after assaulting him at 20:10.
  • At 20:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Rafat village and impeded the free flow of traffic from both directions.
Raid
  • At 18:20, Israeli forces raided Deir Ballout until 18:45.
Temporary Detention
  • At 11:20, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint temporarily detained Jaser Araf Adeli then released him after summoning him to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • At 19:50, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint temporarily detained Fawzi Fawariq (A resident of Awarta) then released him at 22:45.
Physical Assault
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint junction assaulted Hussein Jameel Hussein Hashash (A resident of Balata Camp in Nablus city) and as a result left him hospitalised.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) near Al-Nuw’meh village junction located at the North entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 14:15.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Khilat Al-Louz village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya, summoned 3 residents: Mohammad Nasser Ismail Salah, Ahmad Mohammad Shtewi Al-Asa and Nasser Mahmoud Mohammad Al-Asa to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning.
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya  town and Dar Salah village.
  • At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, clashed with several residents as they stormed several homes and as a reault injured Wael Khader Salah and summoned 3 residents: Hazim Jum’a Salah, Mohammad Khader Musa and Mohammad Ribhi Musa the withdrew at 03:30.
  • At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajar, stormed a home and summoned Ali Khaled Taqatqa to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:10.
  • At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem and summoned Jallal Yassin Al-Hirmani to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:10.
Temporary Detention
  • On the evening of March 5th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Container checkpoint temporarily detained Mahmoud Nasri Shihadeh Salah (A resident of Al-Khader) then released him after summoning him to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
Settlement Activities
  • At 16:35, Israeli forces paved a road (1.5 KM) long on residential owned land in the area south of Kisan village in order to connect “Malee Amous” settlement with a bypass road in Bethlehem.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighborhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed. (ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Samu’ junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00. (ii) At 17:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Fuwar junction and at the entrance of Tarmah village then searched residents and vehicles. (iii) At 00:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Ramadin village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Bani Na’im. (ii) At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Ithna until 11:35. (iii) At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:00. (iv) At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Ithna, fired flash grenades into the sky and as a result set fire to a Agricultural Green house owned by Yunis Abdel-Rahman Odah after a flash grenade exploded during which Palestinian Civil Defence forces were able to put out the fire then withdrew at 04:00. (v) At dawn on March 6th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar, stormed and searched several homes, detained 3 children and summoned 2 residents: Shadi Ibrahim Baher and Layth Anwar Al-Alami.

Detention

(i) At 13:45, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron detained Rami Izat Mustafa (A resident of Beit Rima village in Ramallah &Al-Bireh district). (ii) At 21:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron detained 2 residents: Yassin Al-Rajabi and Shadi Al-Rajabi for allegedly finding a Pistol in their possession. (iii) Israeli forces detained Sami Al-Da’ur (A Professional Football player at Al-Samu’ Athletic Club) in Hebron. (iv) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mu’taz Nahil Khaled Baher (17 years old), Mahmoud Jamal Mahmoud Alqam (17 years old) and Ma’moun Jamal Mahmoud Alqam (17 years old) in Beit Ummar.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.
