WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 23rd 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  • At 16:10, Israeli forces closed Hizma checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic after the alleged stoning of Israeli settler vehicles in the area then reopened it at a later time.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces closed Shu’fat checkpoint in Jerusalem and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma town then searched residents and vehicles until 23:30.
Raid
  • At 17:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town.
Attack
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Kabsah area in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several resident’s for alleged stoning.
  • At 20:05, Israeli forces positioned near the North entrance of Al-Ram fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several resident’s for alleged stoning
Detention
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces positioned near one of the main entrance gates leading to Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem detained Khalil Al-Abbassi (A resident of Jerusalem city).
House Occupation
  • At 23:30, Israeli forces stormed Hizma village and occupied a home owned by Ali Al-Hilew then converted its rooftop into a military post.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 17:40.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Ein Yabroud village and detained a resident.
  • At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city until 11:00.
  • At 16:30, Israeli forces raided Atarah town, stormed a chicken farm then withdrew at 05:45.
  • At 19:40, Israeli forces raided Deir Jrier village, stormed and searched a vehicle spare parts shop then withdrew at 02:00.

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Jenin camp and detained a resident.
  • At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad, stormed and searched several homes, detained 3 residents then withdrew at 04:20.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Ahmad Eyad Faysal Yahya Arqawi in Jenin camp.
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Farsan Khaled Mohammad Amarneh, Hazim Mohammad Ali Amarneh and Yasser Mohammad Ali Amarneh in Ya’bad.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.
Raid
  • At 08:05, Israeli forces raided Tamoun town.
  • At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Atouf village and stormed several apartments.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  • At 20:40, Israeli forces raided Attil, stormed and searched a reception hall then withdrew at 23:00.
Physical Assault
  • At 21:00, Israeli forces positioned at Jabarah checkpoint assaulted Samer Rabah Ahmad Dibwani (A resident of Nablus city) and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Amin village, stormed and searched several homes.
  • At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Azzun and then stormed and searched 2 homes.
Detention
  • At 20:10, Israeli forces positioned near “Karni Shamron” settlement detained Imad Suliman Al-Khouli (A resident of Azzun town) for allegedly finding a gun in his possession.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 11:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Furiq junction then searched residents and vehicles until 12:30.
  • At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Beita and Odala village then searched residents and vehicles until 14:00.
  • At 15:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shave Shomron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles until 16:40
Raid
  • At 07:30 on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Khirbiet Tana village, demolished 7 Mobile homes, a livestock den and a water pool owned by Ibrahim Abdel-Qadder Hanini, Wasif Abu Saud Hanini, Mohammad Ahamd Nassassrah , Amjad Abdel-Qadder Haniuni, Radwan Khatatbah, Mansour Khatatbah and Hussien Hnini.
  • At 14:20, Israeli forces raided Odala village.
  • At 18:55, Israeli forces raided Zieta and Jama’in village until 19:30.
  • At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 05:50.
Detention
  • At 21:40, Israeli forces positioned near the bypass road near “Yitmar” settlement detained 2 residents: Ayham Daoud Dweikat and Ahmad Ayman Qanazi’ (Both residents of Nablus city) for alleged stoning.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Iskaka village bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 12:20.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Bidya town and detained 2 residents.
  • At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Salfit, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 03:40.
  • At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Rafat village.
  • At 05:00, Israeli force raided Kafil Harris town as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed religious sites in the area then withdrew at 07:30.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Diya Ismail Aqel and Ahmad Amil Aqel in Bidya.
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Billal Rajib Al-Tari and Musalim Yasser Ishtayeh in Salfit city.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
  • At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
  • At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance road of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with cement blocks.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the West entrance of Beit Fajjar and impeded the free flow of traffic.
  • At 20:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasnah area located near the entrance of Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 20:45
Raid
  • At 13:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town then stormed and searched a home.
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader town.
Attack
  • At 17:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Um Al-Rakaba area town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned near “Kafr Itsiyon” settlement junction detained the child Salwa Jamal Fakhri Taqatqa (14 years old) for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ithna then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 08:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Yunis area located along the main road connecting Hebron and Bethlehem then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 09:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Hebron city located along the bypass road (35) near Halhoul bridge) then searched residents and vehicles until 12:00.
  • At 09:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Farsh Al-Hawea rae located in North Hebron city then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Hebron city until 02:35.
  • At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Ithna until 05:50.
  • At dawn on March 24th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar, detained a resident and summoned 3 residents: Mohammad Mahmoud Awwad, Issam Mohammad Baher and Mohammad Abdel-Jawad Khalil to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Sufiyan Zaki Odeh Baher in Beit Ummar.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  •      Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by raiding and opening fire towards North  Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed but with limited access for emergency humanitarian cases and Diplomates.
Raid
  • At 08:10-, Israeli forces escorting Military bulldozers stormed 100 m into the vicinity of North West Beit Lahiya town and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 12:30.
Attack
  • At 09:50, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in North Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Wall Gates
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.
