WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 22nd 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  • At 21:00, Israeli forces closed Shu’fat checkpoint in Jerusalem and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.
Raid
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis, stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 05:00.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma town then searched residents and vehicles.
Attack
  • At 12:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Kabsah area in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several resident’s for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At dawn on March 22nd 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 children: Ahmad Mohammad Kayed (16 years old) and Ibrahim Ali Siyam (17 years old) {Both residents of Mukhmas village}.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces detained Ismail Khaled Ismail Abu Ghanam (A resident of Al-Tur neighbourhood).
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces detained Issa Attallah Issa Hamad (A resident of Abu Dis).
  • At 21:00, Israeli forces detained the child Hamed Loai Aslan (16 years old) {A resident of Qalandiya camp} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
House Demolition
  • On March 21st 2016, Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Abu Sawi Family in Silwan neighbourhood for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • On March 21st 2016, Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Abu Qalbien family in Silwan neighbourhood and then imposed a hefty fine for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • At 12:00, Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Majdi Jamal Idris in Beit Hanina town.
  • At 12:20, Israeli forces demolished a apartment owned by Imad Abbsi in Silwan neighbourhood and then imposed a hefty fine for allegedly being built without a licence.
Destruction of Property
  • At 10:00, Israeli forces stormed Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood forced Khader Abidat to demolish his merchant shop and then imposed a hefty fine for allegedly being built without a licence
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 11:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 13:00.
  • At 20:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya roundabout located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.
  • At 22:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Ras Kar Kar and Kafr Ni’meh villages then searched residents and vehicles until 00:15
Raid
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Awarta town confiscated a vehicle owned by Hamadah Saleh {A Palestinian Detainee}.
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Rima, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:45.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Basil Thalji Yacoub Al-Khateeb in Beit Rima.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan
Raid
  • At 20:25, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad, clashed with several residents , stormed a home owned by Yahya Mustafa Abu Shamaleh after opening fire towards the home and temporarily detained his family members and released them at a later time then withdrew at 22:00.
  • At dawn on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Barta’a Al-Sharqiya and detained 3 residents after storming and searching their homes
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Ameed Tariq Qubha, Rida Ahmad Tawfiq Qubha and Mansour Abdallah Masaud in Barta’a Al-Sharqiya village.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 08:30 and again at 20:35, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 22:20.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Ras area then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces raided Qur and Kafr Sur villages until 16:50.
  • At 03:15, Israeli forces raided Attil, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:00.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Shaher Rizq Allah in Attil.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qalqiliya city then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 22:30, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 03:00.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 11:40.
  • At 13:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 15:50.
Raid
  • At 14:30, Israeli forces raided Sabustiya village until 16:20.
  • At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Nablus city as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed Joseph’s Tomb, during which they clashed with several residents and as a result injured Mohammad Mahmoud Omar Mizhir, then stormed and searched 3 apartment buildings and temporarily detained its occupants and released them after recording their Identification numbers and telephone numbers then withdrew at 05:30.
Detention
  •  At 19:15, Israeli forces positioned at a checkpoint located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya detained 2 residents: Issam Marwan Nasser Abu Howliya and Mahmoud Ali Abu Mustafa {both residents of Balata camp in Nablus} for allegedly finding a knife in their vehicle
Settlers Violence
  • At 16:10, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Burin village, stoned a home owned by Ayman Atallah Sufan and as a result left him hospitalised after he was struck in the head with a stone.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 16:00, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 17:00
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Yasuf village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Mutawi road located between Salfit city and Burqin town then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 21:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zawiya town then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik town, stormed and searched several homes, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:00.
  • At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Qarwat Bani Hassan then stormed and searched a home.
Detention
  • At 21:10, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint detained Osama Mohammad Mahmoud Fadil (A resident of Askar camp in Nablus).
  • Israeli forces detained Yusef Hussein Yusef Qasoul in Kafr Al-Dik town.
Settlers Violence
  • At 13:45, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at  “Ariel” settlement  roundabout stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road near the settlement.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Raid

At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Jericho city and Ein Dweik Al-Tahta village, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:20.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ahmjad Ammar Fahidat in Jericho.

Temporary Detention

At 14:10, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge temporarily detained Tarik Mohammad Rizq Abu Ra’iya (A resident of Za’tara town in Bethlehem district) as he was returning from Jordan then released him after summoning him to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
  • At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
  • At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance road of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 21:35, Israeli forces closed Al-Container checkpoint, impeded the free flow of traffic from both sides then reopened it at a later time.
Raid
  • At 08:45, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar, stormed a stone cutting mill, temporarily detained several workers and released them at  a later time and again at 01:45 stormed several homes and detained 3 residents.
  • At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader town, set up a up a checkpoint and again at 18:05, clashed with several residents and as a result injured 2 children: Diya Mohammad Issa (14 years old) and Ahmad Yusef Mohammad Atwan (9 years old) leaving them hospitalised.
Injuries
  • At 09:30, the child Abdallah Abdel Hameed Ibrahim Al-Tus (11 years old) {A resident of Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem}after he was struck by a tear gas grenade canister fired by Israeli forces  and as a result left him hospitalised
Attack
  • At 13:05, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem fired stun grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 18:25, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ayda camp in North Bethlehem city fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured the child Tariq Mohammad Ali Sarour (16 years old) and as a result left him hospitalised.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Ammar Mohammad Mahmoud Taqatqa, Mohammad Jallal Mohammad Taqatqa and Mohammad Salem Mohammad Thawabteh in Beit Fajjar
Temporary Detention
  • At 10:45, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Aroub camp temporarily detained Marwan Na’im Thawabteh (A resident of Beit Fajjar) then released him at 14:40.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Aroub camp searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 09:05, Israeli forces raided Hebron city until 13:40. (ii) At 02:25 on March 23rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Dura town until 04:25.

House Demolition

At 11:35, Israeli forces stormed Yatta town and demolished a home and a livestock den owned by Shaher Ahmad Issa Abu Aram.

Destruction of Property

At 09:55, Israeli forces stormed Khirbiet Al-Taban village located in south east Yatta and demolished a livestock den owned by Nasser Khalil Abu Obied.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.   
  • Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by raiding and opening fire towards Central Gaza
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Khan Yunis.
  • Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack

(i) At 06:20 on March 22nd 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya. (ii) At 12:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

CENTRAL GAZA

Raid
  • At 13:15, Israeli forces escorting Military bulldozers stormed 150m into the vicinity of east Deir AL-Balah and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 17:30.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Fakhari town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
