WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On February 7th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.
  2. At 19:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Ram then searched residents and vehicles.
Attack
  1. At 23:25, Israeli forces positioned in Hush Abu Taya area in Silwan neighbourhood fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  2. At 23:30, Israeli forces positioned at Hizma checkpoint opened fire towards a civilian vehicle for allegedly not stopping at the checkpoint.
Detention
  1. At 08:00, Israeli forces detained Isam Yunis Abu Isba’ (A resident of Qalandiya camp).
  2. At 08:00, Israeli forces detained Muna Omar (A resident of the old city of Jerusalem).
  3. On February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained Mahdi Al-Karami in Silwan neighbourhood.
  4. On February 7th 2016, Israeli forces detained the child: Bilal Mansour Al-Tariya (17 years old) {A resident of Bani Na’im in Hebron District).
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  2. On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  3. On January 27th 2016, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 08:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Abu Mash’al village then searched residents and vehicles until 10:30.
  2. At 17:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah village bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  3. At 21:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ein Arik village then searched residents and vehicles until 16:40.

JENIN

Closure (per District)
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.

Detention
  1. At 22:15, Israeli forces detained Sa’ed Hisham Al-Natour (A resident of Jenin) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
  2. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Ahmad Rashed Kamil and Mohammad Ziyad Abu Al-Rub in Qabatiya.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Raid
  • At 23:05, Israeli forces raided Tayassir village.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 15:00.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 21:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nazlah Al-Gharbiya village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:45.
Raid
  1. At 21:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Nazlah Al-Shariqiya village stormed a home and summoned Mohammad Abdel-Kareem Kitaneh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 02:00.
  2. At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem camp in Tulkarem, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:15.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Wael Khalil Habali in Tulkarem camp.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  2. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 16:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun Atma village then searched residents and vehicles.
  2. At 17:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 20:55.
  3. At 23:55, Israeli force set up a checkpoint along Halba road located at the south entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 00:50.
  4. At 01:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit junction then searched residents and vehicles until 01:45.
Raid
  • At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city until 02:50.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  2. The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of Roads
  1. At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  2. On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  3. At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  4. At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  5. At 09:00 on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces closed the steel gate {south} entrance of Jamma’in village and closed the main road connecting.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 12:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Furiq then searched residents and vehicles until 13:25.
Raid
  1. At 21:05, Israeli forces raided Yatma village, served military orders for the demolition of 2 homes owned by Mohammad Faraj Al-Najjar and Raja Ibrahim Al-Najjar.
  2. At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Nablus.
Detention
  • At 20:30, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Abdallah Sameer Odah and Awad Saleem Khamous {both residents of Huwara} as they were reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  2. Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  1. At 10:30 and again at 00:50, Israeli forces raided Deir Ballout, served military orders to halt construction on 5 homes owned by Idris Jabarah Abdallah, Nouh Murshid Jabarah Abdallah, Abdel-Kahliq Rashdi Abdallah, Muhammad Rushdi Jabarah Abdallah, Ibrahim Yusef Abdallah then detained a University student and withdrew at 02:00.
  2. At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik, stormed 3 homes then withdrew at 05:00.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Bara’ Zuhdi Talib Abdallah in Deir Ballout.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  2. Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between  Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
  3. Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
  4. Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  5. Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
  6. Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
  7.  Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
  8. On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
  9. Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  10. At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village  with a steel gate.
  11. At 20:00 on January 18th  2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.
Raid
  1. At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Jub’a village, temporarily detained Izat Taha Abu Latifa and released him at a later time then withdrew at 21:25.
  2. At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Mount Hindaza area located in south Bethlehem, stormed 2 homes then withdrew at 02:40.
  3. At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader and detained 3 residents
Detention
  1. At 19:55, Israeli forces positioned near “Kafr Itsiyon” settlement junction detained Rami Ibrahim Khalil Abu Hamad (A resident of Wadi Al-Nis village).
  2. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Shihadeh Mohammad Salah, Mujahid Yassin Da’dou’ and Mohammad Rizq Salah in Al-Khadr.

HEBRON

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  2. Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
  3. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
  4. On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.
Raid
  1. At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Deir Sammit village.
  2. At 02:40, Israeli forces raided Sa’ir and Beit Awa.
Detention
  • At 00:50 on February 7th 2016, Israeli forces detained Islam Yassin Al-Karaki during their raid into Hebron city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  2. Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  2. Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  3. Sufa Crossing is closed
  4. Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
