WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On February 2nd 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall
Raid
  • On the morning of February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis and detained 2 residents including a child.
  • At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village.
  • At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram, stormed and searched 6 homes then withdrew at 04:30.
  • At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis and Al-Eizariya, stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 04:30.
Detention
  • On the morning of February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Wissam Al-Natsheh and Ali Hajij {Both resident of Jerusalem}.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammad Ali Ja’abis, Alaa Mohammad Ja’abis and Abdallah Mohammad Ja’abis in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood.
  • At 21:30, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Beit Duqqu detained 2 children: Mohammad Mustafa Sa’id Dahoud (16 years old) and Firas Farouq Marar (16 years old).
  • Israeli forces detained Ali Ghalib Ayad (15 years old) and Talal Erikat.
House Demolition
  1. On the morning of February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces stormed Wadi Qaddum area in Silwan neighbourhood demolished a home owned by Yahya Muhisien.
  2. On the morning of February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces stormed Sur Bahar village and demolished a home owned by Eyad Abu Mahamied.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
(iii) At 19:35 on January 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed Shuqba village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On January 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 16:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya village located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 20:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Khirbithat Al-Misbah and Beit Ur Al-Tahta villages, detained a resident then withdrew at 21:15.

Attack

At 13:40, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Pesagout” settlement located in east Al-Bireh city fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Mohammad Ammar Yunis Abu Khdeir (15 years old).

Detention

(i) On February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Samer Abdel-Jabra Ishtayeh and Abd-Aziz Ishtayeh {both residents of Kafr Ni’meh} they were reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
(ii) At 15:30, Israeli forces detained the child: Ra’ouf Snobar (17 years old) {A resident of Al-Bireh city} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Yasser Jamal Habal (A resident of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village)

Injuries

Israeli forces injured Mohammad Ammar Yunis Abu Khdeir (15 years old).

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 06:45 on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Jalmah village then searched residents and vehicles until 07:25.
(ii) At 21:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along the main road connecting Jenin and Al-Nasra then searched residents and vehicle.

Raid

(i) At dawn on February 3rd 2016, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad and clashed with several residents.
(ii) At dawn on February 3rd 2016, Israeli forces raided the Industrial zone and “Sabah Al-Khier|” area in Jenin city.

Detention

(i) At 20:40, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate detained Abdallah Mahmoud Raghib Ziyado (A resident of Al-Silah Al-Harthiya).
(ii) On the evening February 1st 2016, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Ti’inik village detained Abdallah Omar Hamza (A resident of Ti’inik village).

Settlers Violence

At 08:10, Israeli forces raided the area of “Halamish” settlement then withdrew at a later time.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bardala village then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 12:35, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 13:30.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:40, Israeli force set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nazlah Al-Sharqiya village then searched residents and vehicle until 21:50.

Injuries

At 20:50, Ziyad Salama Ziyad Az’ameh (A resident of Hebron) after Israeli forces positioned near “Sal’it” settlement located in South Tulkarem opened fire towards him.

QALQILIYA

Closure of main Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Raid

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city, stormed a home then withdrew at 02:20.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 09:00 on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces closed the steel gate {south} entrance of Jamma’in village and closed the main road connecting.

Military Checkpoints

At 09:05, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 09:20.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beita then searched residents and vehicle until 10:50.
(ii) At 10:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Bithan road located at the east entrance of Nablus then searched residents and vehicles until 13:15.

Raid

At 02:40, Israeli forces raided Askar camp in Nablus, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:10.

Temporary Detention

At 16:20, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Beit Furiq temporarily detained Ammar Ibrahim Al-Qaddumi (A National Security Force officer) then released him at 17:05.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ammar Sa’ed Al-Masri.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 11:30, Israeli forces raided Deir Ballout, served military orders for the demolition of 5 homes owned by: Mohammad Murshid Jabarah Abdallah, Nouh Murshid Jabarah Abdallah, Idris Abdallah, Ibrahim Yusef Abdallah and Abdel-Khaleq Rushdi Jabarah Abdallah for allegedly being built without a licence.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 09:05.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village with a steel gate.
(vi) At 20:00 on January 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 16:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Taqou’ then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 20:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader.
(ii) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Ayda camp in Bethlehem, detained 3 residents then withdrew at 03:40.

Attack

At 16:50, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Ayda camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Khalil Abdel-Rahman Rashid Abu Sarour, Farouq Ma’moun Abdel-Qadder Badir and Khalil Musa Al-A’q.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
(vi) At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
(vii) At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
(viii) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

Flying Checkpoints

At 10:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Thahriya then searched residents and vehicles until 14:00.

Raid

(i) At dawn on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Samou’ and detained 2 residents.
(ii) At 07:10 on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Junba, Halawah Khirbiet Al-Fakhit and Khirbeit Al-Taban located in south east Yatta and demolished 23 residential barracks and confiscated 2 Electrical Generating Solar panels owned by Ali Mahmoud Jabarin , Mohammad Ali Jabarin, Ali Ahmad Yunis, Mahmoud Ahmad Yunis, Ali Mohammad Abu Aram, Jamil Yunis Abu Aram, Hani Khalil Abu Aram, Jabril Ahmad Abu Aram, Samir Hamamdah then withdrew at 11:00.
(iii) At 14:05, Israeli forces raided Surif and detained a resident.
(iv) At 16:40, Israeli forces raided Mein village located in south east Yatta and clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched 4 homes.
(v) At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Hebron and summoned Eyad Masoudah to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 02:55.
(vi) At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Awwa and detained a child then withdrew at 05:15.

Attack

At 16:25, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At dawn on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Awni Imad Abu Shamsiya (16 years old) in Khilat Al-Khadour area located in the old city of Hebron.
(ii) At dawn on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained Omar Atef Hussein Masalmah during their raid into Beit Awwa in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
(iii) At dawn on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Nizar Salhab Al-Tamimi (15 years old) in the old city of Hebron.
(iv) At dawn on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained Hussein Attiyeh Dababseh (A resident of Tarqumiya).
(v) At dawn on February 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Khalil Ahmad Al-Sharawneh (17 years old) {A resident of Dura}.
(vi) At 20:00, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp detained the child Mohammad Bassam Fihmi Atasheh (17 years old) {A resident Al-Fuwar camp}.
(vii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Yusef Salam Abu Sayf and Mohammad Hussein Ali Abu Tabikh in Al-Samou’.
(viii) Israeli forces detained Ali Mahmoud Al-Hih in Surif.
(ix) Israeli forces detained Yazen Abdallah Shalash (17 years old) in Beit Awwa

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza, Khan Yunis and Rafah.
• Israeli Naval Vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza, Gaza and Central Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 08:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack

(i) At 08:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Gaza city.
(ii) At 13:20, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Zaytouneh neighbourhood located in south east Gaza city.

Detention

At 16:30, Israeli forces detained 2 unidentified residents as they attempted to climb the border fence from South east Gaza city into Israel.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 08:00, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Nussayrat camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 20:15, Israeli positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in Khaz’a.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.

Attack

At 08:30, Israeli positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents located on agricultural land in east Rafah.
