WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On January 31st 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces intensified their restriction at Jaba’ checkpoint{ located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah and  Jericho} and impeded the free flow of traffic then at 11:45 closed the checkpoint  until 13:00 and again at 18:00 closed the checkpoint again and impeded the free flow of traffic until 00:20.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 12:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qalandiya village then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.
  • At 16:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Eisawiya and prevented residents and vehicles from entering or exiting the village.
  • On January 31st 2016, Israeli forces set up several checkpoints at the entrance of Al-Tur neighbourhood and impeded the free flow of traffic for the alleged stoning and firebombing of a Israeli Military vehicle.
Deportation
  • On January 31st 2016, Israeli forces stormed Jerusalem city and served a military order to Najah Barikat which prevents her from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 6 months.
Attack
  • At 17:30, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Ram junction fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • On January 31st 2016, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa mosque compound detained Issa Salhab {A Maintenance worker at Al-Aqsa mosque compound).
Injuries
  • On the evening of January 31st 2016, Billa Oday was hospitalised after being ran over by a Israeli Military vehicle in Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 10:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
  • On January 31st 2016, Israeli Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and prevented maintenance work on a rooftop of a building located in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure
  • At 14:30 on January 31st 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances leading to Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities with military checkpoints and prevented resident Ramallah and Al-Bireh resident ID holders from exiting the cities and prevented all other residents from entering the cities after A Palestinian Police officer was killed by Israeli forces near Al-Mahakma checkpoint  after he allegedly opened fire towards 3 Israeli soldiers positioned at the checkpoint which injured 3 Israeli soldiers {As allegedly by the Israeli Military}.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  • At 19:35 on January 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed Shuqba village with dirt mounds.
  • On January 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village.
  • At 11:30, on January 28th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Deir Ibzi’ village and “Doliv” settlement junction with cement blocks.
  • At 13:05 on January 31st 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Silwad and Yabroud village which leads to “Ofra” settlement.
  • At 15:30 on January 30th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus near Ein Sinya village junction and the main road connecting Ein Ayoub area with Deir Ammar and Beit Illo villages then reopened them at a later time.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 11:35, Israeli forces closed Al-Makhakma checkpoint located near “Bet El” settlement in North Al-Bireh city and impeded the free flow of traffic after A Palestinian Police officer was killed by Israeli forces near Al-Mahakma checkpoint after he allegedly opened fire towards 3 Israeli soldiers positioned at the checkpoint which injured 3 Israeli soldiers {As allegedly by the Israeli Military}.

  • At 09:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Abu Mash’al village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 11:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya village roundabout and prevented residents from entering except those holding Ramallah Identification Cards.
  • At 11:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah village bridge and impeded the free flow of traffic.
  • At 11:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Illo village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ras Kar Kar village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint  at the entrance of Beit Ur Al-Tahta village and opened fire towards a resident driving a vehicle for allegedly attempting to run over a Israeli Soldier {As alleged by the Israeli Military} and as a result left him hospitalised with critical injuries after detaining him.
Raid
  • At 15:40, Israeli forces raided Khirbithat Al-Misbah, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 17:30.
  • At 18:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Nabi Saleh village and detained a Palestinian Police officer after storming his home.
Killings
  • At 11:35, Amjad Jaser Awad Abu Amr (32 years old){A resident of Jama’in village in Nablus}{A Palestinian Police Force officer} was killed  after Israeli forces positioned near Al-Mahakma checkpoint opened fire towards him  after he allegedly opened fire towards 3 Israeli soldiers positioned at the checkpoint which injured 3 Israeli soldiers {As allegedly by the Israeli Military}.
Detention
  • At 11:20, Israeli forces positioned near Beit Ur Al-Tahta village detained Ali Fawzi Rayan {A resident of Beit Liqya}.
  • Israeli forces detained Ahmad Wajeeh Jadallah {A resident of Beit Ur Al-Tahta}.
  • Israeli forces detained Ashraf Fadil Al-Tamimi {A Palestinian Police Force Officer} in Al-Nabi Saleh village.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  • Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Ya’bad then searched residents and vehicles  until 15:10.
  • At 15:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Jaba’ located along the main road connecting Jenin and Nablus) and fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several children for alleged stoning and detained a resident.
Attack
  • At 17:40, Israeli forces positioned near the east entrance of Ya’bad fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for village stoning.
Detention
  • At 20:50, Israeli forces detained Fareed Ziyad Fareed Al-Jamal {A resident of Jenin} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning at “Salem” Military base after receiving a prior summon.
  • Israeli forces detained Fadi Najah Ahmad Abu Ali (A resident of Sanour village) at the entrance of Jaba’.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ein Al-Bayda village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 11:50, Israeli forces raided Ein Al-Bayda village.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 08:50, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:30.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Bazariya village junction located in east Anabata then searched residents and vehicles until 16:30.
  • At 18:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near at the entrance of Beit Lid then searched residents and vehicles until 18:50
Raid
  • At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 03:15.
Killings
  • At 07:20, Ahmad Hassan Tubat (19 years old){A resident of Kafr Al-Jamal} was killed after Israeli forces positioned near “Sal’it” settlement located in south Tulkarem opened fire towards him for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier.
Detention
  • At 19:35, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Taybeh checkpoint located along the Green Line in west Tulkarem detained Omar Raja Shadid {A resident of Alar}.
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ibrahim Badawi and Bassam Jamil Al-Qadawi in Tulkarem city.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 21:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hablah village then searched residents and vehicles until 00:15.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds
Military Checkpoints
  • At 16:50, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint  and prevented vehicles from passing through the checkpoint  and redirected the flow of traffic  towards Awarta village junction road for alleged maintenance work on the checkpoint area.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 06:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jama’in and prevented vehicles from passing through the checkpoint from both directions after closing the main steel entrance gate.
Raid
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Salem village until 19:00.
  • At 01:35, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, detained 2 residents  then withdrew at 03:55.
  • At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Jama’in village.
  • At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Tel village, stormed and searched a home the withdrew at 05:00.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Rawhi Ghassan Rushdi Miramash and Azmi Al-Aqad Abu Mariyam in Nablus city.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 12:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Al-Zawiya village then searched residents and vehicles.
Settlers Violence
  • At 01:25, a Israeli settler opened fire towards the home of Mohammad Abu Zied in Deir Istiya

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 23:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Jiftlik village junction and prevented vehicles from passing through to enter Jericho city.
Raid
  • At dawn on January 31st 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village and summoned Iz Al-Din Musa Yusef Hussein to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning and again at 19:55 raided Al-Sad area  for all aged stoning of a bus carrying Israeli settlers then withdrew at 20:55.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between  Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
  •  Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village  with a steel gate.
  • At 20:00 on January 18th  2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  •  At 08:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the south entrance of Beit Sahour then searched residents and vehicles until 08:40.
Raid
  • At 08:40, Israeli forces raided Dar Salah village until 14:00.
  • At 10:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Sahour, stormed a home and temporarily detained a woman then released her after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officers then stormed a merchant shop and inspected surveillance camera footage and then withdrew at 14:00.
  • At 11:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Jallah.
  • At 04:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 06:40.
Attack
  • At 15:15, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ayda camp located in North Bethlehem fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 16:15, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Taqou’ fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured a resident.
Detention
  • At 20:40, Israeli forces positioned near “Kafr Itsiyon” settlement junction detained Atef Mohammad Abdel-Rahman Al-Kar {A resident of Beit Fajjar} for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli settler {As alleged by the Israeli Military}.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages. 
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
  • At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
  • At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
  • At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
  • On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area  located in the  old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.
Raid
  • At 09:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya, stormed a home and summoned Mohammad Jamil Samamrah to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • At 17:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron city and stormed a home.
Detention
  • At 15:15, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound in the old city of Hebron detained 2 residents: Sadam Ali Shahin Al-Ja’bari and Ali Abdel-Qadder Dofash.
Assaults on Property
  • On the evening of January 31st 2016, Israeli forces stormed Wadi Al-Shiekh area located in Beit Umar along road (60) and served a military order for the halt of construction work on a home owned by Osama Mohammad Salem Al-Alami for allegedly being built without a licence and then confiscated marble stones and several construction equipment from the site.
Settlers Violence
  • At 17:30, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the old city of Hebron and stormed an abandoned home owned by Al-Za’tari family in an attempt to take over the home.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards  Gaza, Central Gaza and  Khan Yunis.
  • Israeli Naval Vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Checkpoints
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  • At 08:30, Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.
  • At 10:00, Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Zaytouneh neighbourhood located in south east Gaza city.
