Dr. Erekat condemns ''the savage Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip’’

This morning Chief Palestinian Negotiator, Dr. Saeb Erekat condemned ''the savage Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip’’ that until now resulted in the death of over 150 Palestinians, and 200 injured, many of them civilians and children.

“Nothing can justify the Israeli aggression on the civilian population of Gaza. These savage attacks cannot be tolerated. Israel must be held accountable for these war crimes.”

Dr. Erekat also called on all members of the international community to demand that Israel immediately stop its massacres in the Gaza Strip and end its illegal bockade. He also called on them to intervene to help the Egyptians sustain the ceasefire.

During the year after Annapolis, more than 500 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of them in the Gaza Strip, including 69 children.
