Dr. Erakat on media reports

Chief Palestinian Negotiator, Dr Saeb Erakat, today labeled as 'irresponsible’ and 'counterproductive’ a growing number of media reports on the proximity talks.

Dr. Erakat unequivocally denied today’s report in the Wall Street Journal claiming that Palestinians made offers to Israel. ''Such reports are disturbing and baseless and only aim at harming Palestinian interests.’’

He concluded by clarifying : ''There is a formal understanding with Senator Mitchell that Senator Mitchell is the one to issue a communiqué after each round on behalf of each side.’’
